Streamvale Open Farm
Streamvale Farm is unique in Ireland. Nestled in the Gilnahirk Hills overlooking the city, you can see, touch and taste the rural heritage of County Down. Get up close and personal with the dozens of friendly farm animals, watch the cows being milked, take a stroll along the nature trail or just enjoy the views while savouring the superb ice cream made here on the farm from our own cows' milk. It's a great day out for country lovers of all ages.
Streamvale Farm has a host of friendly farm animals from highland cattle to newly hatched chicks. Pigs, goats, ponies, sheep, ducks and every size of chicken!
Our baby animals are a hit with everyone - especially cuddle times with wee bunnies and walkies with the pups. In the summer we have sheep races and everyone gathers together for our famous feeding times when we bottle feed the lambs and goats. All our cuddle and feeding activities are all supervised by the super Streamvale staff.
At Streamvale Farm we have rides to suit everyone! A long leisurely ride to the top of the farm provides visitors with views right across Belfast and the opportunity to see and feed our herd of red deer. The pony rides have been a hit since we started 23 years ago and now very popular are the barrel rides - a fast and fun ride for all ages pulled by a powerful quad bike.
The Creamery Café has become famous not just for its home made ice cream but also its delicious snacks and first class low ropes playground to occupy the children while adults can relax over their latte! Other play areas include the Straw Bounce, the Junior Farmyard and the Zip line.
You can bring a picnic - we have indoor and outdoor eating spaces and stay for the day or just pop into the Creamery Café for an ice cream, so whatever time you have a trip to Streamvale is great fun and great value.
Try the living history trail. Follow the paths and find about how life on the farm has changed and developed over nine generations of this family.
